New Premises

We would like to thank Mr Jack Dromey, MP for Erdington for opening the new premises of Bethany Community Outreach Food Bank on Saturday 10th October which is located on the old Colliers Land Rover site in Erdington and can only be accessed via Orphanage Road

How does it work

We operate on a referral basis from various agencies including the Council, Police, Homestart, Housing Associations, Job Centre, local churches and local Community Groups.  If anyone just turns up we would never turn them away and will put you in touch with one of the agencies we work with.  If you are an Aid Worker or Support Worker and need to signpost a client to the Food Bank please telephone us on 07703663506 or email us at bethany.erdington@gmail.com.  The hours at present are Tuesday to Thursday 11:30 to 13:00 and Wednesday 11:00 to 12:00.

Who can we help

Our clients are usually homeless, jobless, elderly, infirm, low income workers and those in temporary financial difficulties and are from various locations, including Tyburn, Castle Vale, Kingstanding, Erdington and the surrounding Birmingham area.  However we have clients as far away as Ladywood and Newtown.

Our Food

Unlike many food banks Bethany Community Outreach Food Bank likes to supply our clients with a good variety of food which also includes frozen and fresh food. Any food which isn’t used we distribute to other food banks, Salvation Army, the homeless or other community groups on a daily basis so that nothing is wasted.
